Sub-Zero UC-15I Undercounter Ice Machine: Water, Drain and Harvest
The only machine in this catalogue that needs somewhere to put water as well as somewhere to draw it from. A UC-15I is narrower than everything around it, sits in the same height of opening, and spends its life on a drain nobody thinks about again.

What a cycle actually consists of
Five stages, about half an hour, longer or shorter with the room and the water. The inlet valve fills, purging old water out as it goes. The compressor starts and stays on through freeze and harvest. Water is sprayed into inverted cups and freezes layer by layer until a cube has formed in each. The evaporator warms, the cubes let go and drop, and production stops when ice in the bin reaches the thermostat watching for it.

Two jobs fall due every six months and neither is optional. The condenser behind the kickplate takes a soft brush and a vacuum worked the way the fins run. The water system takes the clean and sanitise cycle, wanted more often where water quality is poor. The filter goes at six months or 8000 cycles, whichever lands first, and the machine bypasses it while it is out.

The inlet valve is not filling properly
Sub-Zero's list for a machine running without producing starts here: supply, filter, spray nozzles, pressure held between 20 and 80 psi. A valve only half opening gives shallow, incomplete cubes rather than none at all.

The fan is no longer moving air at the kickplate
The condenser lives behind that kickplate and wants clearing every six months here, not the three to six a refrigerator gets. Falling output is the first complaint; warm air off the grille confirms it.

Scale has built up through the spray system
Ragged, shallow or white cubes are the sign. The clean and sanitise cycle is the owner's answer and a good one, but where scale has gone past what that cycle shifts, the machine is opened and cleaned properly.
Quoted once the machine is open, because how far the scale has travelled decides the work.

The panel is lit and nothing is happening
POWER on, no ICE, no cycle beginning — or a delay somebody set once that now repeats on its own. Auto delay does repeat every 24 hours by design, which is worth ruling out first.

Water standing in the bin
At commissioning, a gallon poured into the bin should be gone inside sixty seconds; slower and the guide calls the drain kinked or wrongly installed. The same test still holds years later, and the fall is usually the answer.
Where the drain itself is at fault the work belongs to a plumber; the visit says which side of the fitting the trouble is on.

How much ice should a UC-15I be making in a day?
Sub-Zero gives a cycle rather than a daily total: roughly thirty minutes, varying with the room and the water temperature. Output that has visibly dropped is best measured against what this machine used to do rather than against a number, and the usual causes are the condenser, the filter, the spray nozzles and the pressure. Can the level the bin fills to be changed?
Yes. A thermostat in the storage bin tells the machine to stop once ice touches it, and the control for that sits behind the kickplate: left takes the level down, right brings it up. Cube weight is a separate adjustment made at the control panel by adding freeze time a minute at a time.
