A wine cabinet is a refrigeration machine wearing joinery. Whether it is an integrated column in a Westwood tower, a full-height cabinet standing in a bar, or a 24-inch unit under a worktop in Venice, the same thing decides how long it lasts: whether the air it needs can get in and out at the front.

The use-and-care guide for the 400 series puts it plainly — every model in that range is designed for mechanical-system airflow at the front of the unit — and the installation guides for the 427 and the undercounter models both say the louvred section of the kickplate must not be covered, and that the kickplate has to stay removable for service with the floor not fouling it. A continuous plinth across the front, or a baseboard run over the fins, and the cabinet is fighting from the first week.

Worth dealing with, and rarely a cooling failure. A two-zone cabinet holds its zones apart with a damper, a sensor and a divider seal, and any of the three can let them merge. Proving it takes a probe in each half against the display, which is the first thing done on the visit.
What temperatures should the two zones actually be set to?
That is your call, not a fault. Sub-Zero ships the two-zone cabinets preset to 45°F in the upper zone and 55°F in the lower, and the classic range allows anything from 38°F to 65°F in each. Set what suits the bottles; the cabinet will hold it if it is healthy.
