Sub-Zero has sold wine storage as a free-standing box, as a cabinet that stands on the floor and takes a decorative front, and as a column that disappears into a run of joinery entirely. What separates them in practice is not the year on the plate. It is the grille: where it sits, how much of it the cabinetmaker was allowed to cover, and whether the unit can still be pulled forward without taking the room apart.
